The Giants appear to have suffered another big blow early on this season.
Big Blue fears that WR/KR Gunner Olszewski suffered a torn Achilles during Friday afternoon's practice session, according to numerous reports.
Olszewski went down with the non-contact injury coming off the line on a route.
According to Dan Duggan of the Athletic, Olszewski showed significant frustration as he went down in pain and grabbed toward his lower right leg.
Teammates were clearly affected as the receiver was carted off the field.
Olszewski is expected to undergo further testing over the weekend to confirm the injury.
The 29-year-old return man has spent the past three seasons in the Big Apple, and he once again re-signed with the club on a one-year pact over the offseason.
Olszewski had 10 catches for 145 yards, and served as the team's top punt returner last year.
If the imaging confirms that he'll be facing another extended absence, the Giants are going to have to look elsewhere to fill that role on special teams.
