The New York Giants are heading towards the 2026 NFL season with some question marks in their wide receiver room. Malik Nabers is hurt, and the rest of the depth chart is not in great shape.
But one of the more interesting receivers is Odell Beckham Jr., back with the team for the first time since the 2018 season, and back in the NFL after not playing in 2025. The big question, though, is will he actually play?
Well, according to Ryan Dunleavy of New York Post Sports, the Giants have announced that Beckham will actually play in the first preseason game, giving Giants fans plenty of reason to tune in and showing that the beloved WR has a real chance of making the team.

"Odell Beckham Jr. WILL play in #Giants preseason opener, per John Harbaugh," Dunleavy reports from training camp.
The Giants play their first preseason game at home in MetLife Stadium and will welcome the Minnesota Vikings and their new quarterback, Kyler Murray, to kick off the 2026 NFL preseason for both teams.
Beckham will actually be playing for the Giants, as the beloved WR will finally be playing for the Giants in front of his home crowd for the first time in eight years.

Back in 2018, his last season with the Giants, he played in 12 games, catching 77 of 124 targets for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns.
He was a three-time Pro Bowler with the team before leaving for the Cleveland Browns and eventually playing for the Los Angeles Rams (where he won a Super Bowl), the Baltimore Ravens, and the Miami Dolphins most recently in 2024.
While there is still some uncertainty about whether he'd actually make the roster, this is a good first sign that he's actually going to see the field, even though it's only the preseason.
If nothing else, it will be a cool moment for Beckham and Giants fans to see him out on the field one more time at MetLife before he eventually retires.
