Ghana’s goalkeepers are preparing for a penalty-area examination against England in Tuesday’s World Cup clash in Boston.
Ghana take on Thomas Tuchel’s side knowing victory would secure qualification from Group L, but they are braced for a physical challenge from set-pieces and balls into the box.
England are a strong set-piece team and caused Croatia a host of problems from dead balls in last Wednesday’s opening win in Dallas, where Harry Kane scored from a Declan Rice corner.
“Obviously, England is one of the best teams in the world,” Ghana’s goalkeeping coach Daniel Gasper told the Ghana Football Association’s website.
“They have certain characteristics and a style of play and we’re exposing our goalkeepers to those conditions.
“We’re preparing them not only for the timing of catching and boxing, but also the physical challenge they’ll face.
“I have no doubt our goalkeepers are prepared for all the conditions against England.”
