Are you ready to vote for the Washington County high school winter sports athletes of the week?
Nominees are selected based on statistics provided by county coaches.
Thirteen boys and 13 girls are in the running this week. Voting will remain open until Thursday at noon.
Dalton Albowicz, Clear Spring basketball -- Albowicz had 25 points, eight rebounds and four steals in a loss to Allegany, had 20 points and four rebounds in a win over Bishop Walsh and had 16 points and six rebounds in a loss to Brunswick.
Daniel Apiou, Clear Spring indoor track and field -- Apiou won the 55 hurdles (7.91) and the high jump (6-2) in the Jeff Spielman Invitational.
Jahmeir Byrd, Williamsport basketball -- Byrd had 37 points and seven rebounds in an overtime win over Boonsboro and had 40 points, eight rebounds and four steals in a win over Smithsburg.
Joey Dorsey, North Hagerstown basketball -- Dorsey had 30 points, 11 rebounds and four assists in a win over Smithsburg, and had 18 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Boonsboro.
Ben Foster, Smithsburg wrestling -- Foster went 7-0 for the week at 157 pounds, including 6-0 at the Walkersville duals.
Blake Main, Boonsboro basketball -- Main had 20 points and 10 rebounds in an overtime loss to Williamsport.
Jay McConnaughey, Clear Spring indoor track and field -- McConnaughey won the 55 (6.73) in the Jeff Spielman Invitational.
James Mirembe, Saint James indoor track and field -- Mirembe won the 1,600 (4:34.15) in the Ray Shriver Invitational.
Noah Poe, Heritage basketball -- Poe had 24 points, five assists and five rebounds in a loss to Broadfording, and had 21 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists in a win over MSD.
Torin Sitter, South Hagerstown indoor track and field -- Sitter won the 300 (36.51) and ran a leg of the Rebels' winning 4x200 relay (1:37.97) in the Jeff Spielman Invitational.
Jacob Tyler, Smithsburg basketball -- Tyler scored 32 points in a loss to North Hagerstown and scored 10 points in a loss to Williamsport.
Micah Wilson, Heritage basketball -- Wilson had 11 points and 18 rebounds in a loss to Broadfording and had 19 points, 25 rebounds and four blocks in a win over MSD.
Michael Wynkoop, Smithsburg indoor track and field -- Wynkoop won the 3,200 (9:57.65) in the Ray Shriver Invitational.
Claire Bono, Smithsburg basketball -- Bono had 15 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and four steals in a win over North Hagerstown and had 18 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and five assists in a win over Williamsport.
Madison Booth, Hancock indoor track and field -- Booth won the high jump (4-9) in the Jeff Spielman Invitational.
Emily Franko, Boonsboro indoor track and field -- Franko won the 800 (2:38.27) in the Ray Shriver Invitational.
Aniyah Freeman, South Hagerstown basketball -- Freeman scored 11 points in a loss to Clear Spring, scored 13 points in a loss to Frederick and scored 20 points in a loss to Catoctin.
Erica Long, Grace Academy basketball -- Long had 10 points, 13 rebounds and four steals in a loss to CVCS and had 16 points, 14 rebounds and three steals in a loss to Broadfording.
Skyla Mastronardi, Smithsburg basketball -- Mastronardi had 17 points, nine assists, four steals and four rebounds in a win over North Hagerstown, had 23 points and eight assists in a win over Williamsport and had 13 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals in a win over Massaponax.
Katelyn Moffitt, Clear Spring indoor track and field -- Moffitt won the shot put (32-9 1/2) in the Jeff Spielman Invitational.
Tasha Mongan, Heritage basketball -- Mongan had 17 points, five steals, four rebounds and three assists in a win over Lighthouse.
Tenley Mullendore, Saint James basketball -- Mullendore had 21 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists in a win over MSD and had nine points, nine rebounds, seven assists and five steals in a win over Heritage.
Taraji Nartey, North Hagerstown indoor track and field -- Nartey won the 55 (7.55) and the 300 (43.93) in the Ray Shriver Invitational.
Caroline Philp, North Hagerstown indoor track and field -- Philp won the 1,600 (5:30.76) and ran a leg of the Hubs' winning 4x800 (10:57.01) in the Ray Shriver Invitational.
Mackenzie Philp, North Hagerstown indoor track and field -- Philp won the 3,200 (12:02.12), finished second in the 1,600 (5:48.03) and ran a leg of the Hubs' winning 4x800 (10:57.01) in the Ray Shriver Invitational.
Daesia Smith, Saint James basketball -- Smith had 12 points, six steals, six rebounds and five assists in a win over MSD, and had 16 points and six steals in a win over Heritage.
