It’s time to start preparing for the 2026 Syracuse Orange football season. We’re going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 3 of the Fran Brown Era.
Up next is…
Name: Vito Shevchenko
Position: Offensive line
Year: Redshirt sophomore
Height: 6’7”
Weight: 310 lbs.
Hometown: Vancouver, Canada
High School/Previous College: Clearwater Academy International (Clearwater, FL)
2025 stats: Appeared in one game (redshirt already used during 2024 season)
2026 projections: The Vancouver native has taken the field in just one game across two years. As of now, there isn’t a clear path for Shevchenko’s playing time to be significantly higher. Similar to 2025, maybe one more year of development could lead to a more defined role after this season. If he sees time on the field in 2026, I’d imagine it will be as a depth tackle.
How’d he get here?: Committed to the Orange in April 2024 over offers from Maryland, FIU, and Florida Atlantic.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars on On3

Interesting nugget o’interest: Shevchenko is one of four players on the 2026 Orange roster originally from Canada.
