The countdown to the start of the 2026 Kentucky Wildcats football season continues, and their opening game is now just 75 days away. As we approach the game, we are taking a look at the full roster, and today we look at No. 75, Hayes Johnson.
Johnson is a 6'4", 310 lb offensive lineman with experience and both guard and tackle. The Campbellsville, Kentucky product was a three-star recruit out of high school and was ranked as the No. 1123 overall recruit in the 2024 class by 247Sports. He chose Kentucky over West Virginia, Louisville, and the Tennessee Volunteers.
As many incoming freshmen do, Johnson took a redshirt for year one, though he did play in one game. Last year, he was a key part of the Wildcats special teams unit and played in all 12 games.
Heading into 2026, Johnson will likely retain his role on special teams, where he can make an impact. He is also expected to be the backup to Coleton Price at center. If pressed into action, the coaching staff is sure to have confidence in his ability to hold up. He could also play guard if needed.
