No. 8 Georgia (16-4, 1-1 SEC) defeated No. 21 Tennessee (14-5, 1-1 SEC), 4-2, Saturday at Foley Field in Athens, Georgia.
With Saturday's win, the Bulldogs tied the three-game SEC series.
Georgia led, 1-0, in the second inning after Michael O'Shaughnessy hit a solo home run. The Bulldogs extended their advantage to, 3-0, after Ryan Black hit a two-run home run in the third inning.
The Vols pulled to within, 3-1, after Blaine Brown hit a solo home run in the fourth inning and, 3-2, after Garrett Wright hit a RBI double in the fifth inning.
Georgia scored one run in the sixth inning to extend its advantage to, 4-2.
Brown went 1-for-3. He recorded one home run, one RBI and one run. Wright went 1-for-4, recording one double and one RBI. Manny Marin went 2-for-4 and scored one run.
Landon Mack (3-2) started for Tennessee. He allowed four runs, nine hits and four walks. Mack recorded four strikeouts, while totaling 95 pitches (59 strikes).
Cam Appenzeller appeared in relief for the Vols and pitched 2.2 innings. He allowed two hits and recorded two strikeouts. Appenzeller totaled 36 pitches, including 27 strikeouts.
