San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle praised Tennessee Titans first-year coach Robert Saleh during a recent appearance on the "Bussin' with the Boys" podcast.
"He's one of the boys for sure," Kittle said. "He knows how to inspire. He's got great, great messaging. He's part of that invention of the (49ers') defense."
Saleh spent the 2025 season as the defensive coordinator with the 49ers. It was his second stint as defensive coordinator with the team and ended with them winning 12 regular-season games and a playoff win despite an injury-ridden defense.
"Just give him some time, and I think he's going to really put some good games out there," Kittle said. "The Titans are going to be good."
Kittle is known to be outspoken and opinionated and seems to hold Saleh in high regard despite not playing on the same side of the ball that Saleh coaches.
Kittle and Saleh's paths first crossed in 2017 when Kittle was drafted to the 49ers and Saleh was hired as defensive coordinator. Saleh was there until 2020. They would later meet again in 2025 following Saleh's tumultuous tenure as New York Jets coach.
