The Indianapolis Colts have officially signed defensive end George Gumbs Jr. to his four-year rookie deal, and Over the Cap has contract details and salary cap hits.
This four-year deal for Gumbs totals $4.881 million, which averages out to $1.220 million per year. Gumbs earned a guaranteed signing bonus of $501,800.
Gumbs will earn a base salary of $885,000 for the 2026 season, and that figure will increase each season, maxing out at $1.280 million in 2029, the final year of his deal.
The aforementioned signing bonus will be prorated for salary cap purposes over the life of the contract, accounting for $125,450 against the cap each season.
Gumbs is still relatively new to the pass rusher position, having started his college career as a wide receiver at Northern Illinois. The Colts believe Gumbs has a solid foundation already established as a pass rusher, but continued development is needed. He'll compete for rotational snaps, but could see most of his playing time come on special teams early on.
