How much of the Indianapolis Colts' 2026 salary cap space is devoted to the defensive end position?

For this season, the league-wide salary cap was set at $301.2 million, and of that, $23.312 million will go towards the defensive end unit for the Colts, according to Over the Cap.

Compared to the rest of the NFL, this ranks 23rd and accounts for 7.7% of the Colts' allotted salary cap space.

Colts salary cap breakdown at defensive end

At a position that can command big salaries, the Colts don't have any big deals on the books at defensive end for the 2026 season.

Arden Key, who signed a three-year, $21 million free-agent deal, has the largest cap hit on the team at this position of $6.75 million. Among all defensive ends, this ranks 40th in the NFL.

Laiatu Latu is still on his rookie deal, so he comes with a modest cap hit of $4.645 million. Free agent Micheal Clemons is just behind him at $4.47 million. He signed a three-year, $17 million deal with the Colts in the offseason.

Jaylahn Tuimoloau, George Gumbs Jr., and Caden Curry are all on rookie contracts as well, which keeps the overall cap hit costs down.

Whether or not the Colts have enough pass rush juice to pair with Latu is one of the bigger unknowns facing this team.
