Like Chopper, I also don't understand the gnashing of teeth over the comment. He's talking about being motivated by the thrill of competition, which is what you want from your coaches and players.

Regardless of yesterday's loss, he wants to win the next one, and do it as soon as possible. What's not to like about this attitude?

I've watched sports for 30 years now. I have yet to give a **** about what a coach says in a mid-week press conference or see it matter in any way.

When you don’t start to take the Panthers seriously until the 2nd quarter (and are down 20-3) it IS an inflammatory statement.
