Mercyhurst 1, UND 0 — Dominik Bartecko 3 6:49. Schumacher walks the puck out of the corner to the side of the crease, where UND goalie Gibson Homer poke-checks it. But Bartecko collects it at the inside of the right circle and snipes one just inside the bar.

Mercyhurst 1, UND 1 — Ellis Rickwood 3 (Mac Swanson, Jayden Jubnevill) 14:14. UND finally puts together a dominant shift, winning several puck battles and maintaining possession until Jubenvill hits Swanson in the right circle and Swanson quickly moves it to Rickwood for a one-timer in the left circle.

UND 2, Mercyhurst 1 — Jack Kernan 4 (Jake Livanavage, Ellis Rickwood) 7:19 (pp). UND converts its first power-play chance of the night. Livanavage slips a pass to Kernan at the top of the zone. The UND rookie snaps one off the post and in for his second goal of the weekend and fourth of the season.

UND 3, Mercyhurst 1 — Dylan James 9 (Ollie Josephson, Abram Wiebe) 10:03. Josephson takes a pass from Wiebe and skates to the bottom of the left circle. He finds James open in the circle and drops a pass for him. The UND senior sniped one off the post and in to make it 3-1.

Will Zellers and E.J. Emery flew from Minneapolis to Grand Forks on Saturday morning, landing at about 11:15 a.m. They're in the lineup after playing in the World Juniors last night. . . Cody Croal, a late scratch on Friday, is in the lineup. . . Dalton Andrew is scheduled to warm up, but is not expected to play. . . UND has won seven in a row and is 11-1 in the last 12. . . The Fighting Hawks are still without Canadian World Junior Team members Cole Reschny and Keaton Verhoeff, who will play in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in St. Paul. . . Both teams are changing starting goalies. Gibson Homer starts for UND. Charles-Edward Gravel, who stopped 46 of 48 on Friday, is out with an injury. Sal Evola will make his first start in three years tonight. Evola, a fifth-year senior transfer, beat Lake Superior State 5-2 on Jan. 6, 2023, when he was at Bowling Green. That's his only NCAA start. . . The only other change is Caleb Price returning from injury on defense and Lukas Klemm going out.
