Yep, and why in the hell can't we just quick snap at the line on a play where there's any doubt? Eeeediots.

I've never understood that either. The teams always line up and sure, they are hurrying, but c'mon just snap it. Worst case they call you for illegal formation or something else. Is there some rule limiting when you can snap the ball to start the next play?

Agreed.

Also, we should have had PP returning kickoffs too.

Washington would have been a huge impact guy though.
I think it's already idiotic that Jefferson is returning.. we shouldn't have our CBs returning kicks.. we're already depleted at the position

I'm not too sure... this defense is now given up close to 900 yards in two games. I will give benefit of doubt to Ray Horton and defense because of new schemes and no off season. But, man, today's loss hurts a lot...

I don't usually whine about bum officiating, but 10 penalties (vs. their 3) and an 82-yard differential in Washington's favor is not a recipe for winning.

The roughing call on Rhodes in the first quarter (after Hightower almost knocked his teeth out after the play was dead) set the tone.

And there were a couple of "ghost" interference calls and at least one motion call where the replay didn't detect any movement - that caught my eye. The final reversal that gave them back the ball with 1:45 still left on the clock was the killer.

The penalties and the road-game/time zone blahs (while overcoming them is part of the deal if you want to win) coupled by horrific officiating was enough to do us in. (Barely).

Other than that, it was all about the ebb and flow of matchups and turnovers, with a few areas we'd better clean up if we're to stay in the hunt; namely:

- Our D-Line has to do a better job of protecting our LB's against ISO and other run blocks, and our entire front-seven got sucked out of their lanes too often.

- Still a bunch of blown coverages in the secondary.

- Brandon Keith.

- We're still not very good at running the ball.

- A few funky decisions by Kolb where he threw into triple coverage.

But the decider was the refs.

Sorry Jeff I disagree. I think that our defense is terrible and that our play calling was below par.
