FSU softball's future received another boost this week as incoming Seminole signee McLaine Hudson added a major national honor to her résumé. Hudson, an infielder from South Warren High School in Bowling Green, Kentucky, was named the 2026 Rivals High School Softball Offensive Player of the Year after putting together one of the most productive seasons in the country.

The Florida State signee helped lead South Warren to a state championship while posting eye-popping offensive numbers throughout her senior campaign. Hudson finished the season batting .735 with 28 home runs, 25 doubles, five triples, 79 RBIs, and 49 stolen bases.

The shortstop's combination of power, speed, and consistency made her one of the nation's most dominant high school players and earned her recognition as the top offensive performer in the Rivals end-of-season awards.

While many national awards often gravitate toward standout pitchers, Rivals highlighted Hudson's extraordinary production at the plate and her role on one of the nation's top high school softball programs. South Warren concluded the season as a state champion and was widely regarded as one of the top teams in the country.

Hudson is part of Florida State head coach Lonni Alameda's 2026 signing class and is expected to bring an accomplished offensive skill set to Tallahassee. Her latest accolade adds to an already impressive list of achievements as she prepares to begin her collegiate career with the Seminoles.

With national recognition and a championship pedigree, Hudson arrives at Florida State as one of the most decorated offensive players in the 2026 recruiting cycle and a prospect who could make an impact for the Seminoles in the years ahead.
