WASHINGTON, D.C. — Freedom 250 has announced SPIRE Academy will serve as the host venue for the 2026 Patriot Games, a national athletic competition celebrating the next generation of American leaders, competitors, and champions as the nation marks its 250th anniversary.
Taking place Aug. 9–11, the 2026 Patriot Games will bring together young athletes ages 14–17 from across the United States, territories, and tribal nations to compete in a series of challenges designed to test strength, endurance, agility, teamwork, and perseverance.
Winners will compete for a share of the $250,000 prize pool, providing transformative educational opportunities and helping them pursue their future goals.
An accredited college preparatory boarding school and one of the premier youth sports, training, and development facilities in the United States, SPIRE provides a world-class setting for a competition that reflects the values of excellence, determination, and opportunity that have defined the American story for over 250 years.
“At SPIRE Academy, we believe strong academics and athletics have the power to shape lives and develop future leaders,” said Jonathan Ehrenfeld, SPIRE Managing Member and CEO. “The 2026 Patriot Games embody those values, and we are excited to welcome competitors from every corner of the country to Geneva for a competition that celebrates hard work, resilience, teamwork, and the pursuit of excellence.”
The competition will include rounds that test excellence in skillsets of American sports, including elements from football, basketball, soccer, track, and more.
Both team and individual competitions are scheduled.
Events from the 2026 Patriot Games will stream on the ESPN App and culminating in a national primetime ESPN on ABC special on Aug. 13.
Athletes will begin arriving Aug. 7 and 8.
Applications for athletes ages 14-17 are now open.
Participants will submit eligibility information and a short video sharing their story and why they want to compete.
Applications will be reviewed by the 2026 Patriot Games Selection Committee, with selected applicants advancing through additional screening and verification rounds before finalists are chosen.
