If you are a die hard Cardinals fan and love to play golf this is for you.

I have enough frequent flyer miles to give an interested Cards fans a free trip to Arizona for a game at SDS from anywhere in the country. Just PM me if you are interested.

Skorp,Jstadvl,derm,Azcards21,nidan,jasonkgme and many others can vouch that I am not crazy just a crazy cards fan. Fly in and play some golf and go to a home game for free. Just let me know. Even if you don't play golf if you can give me a good enough story as to why you should go that could work too.

Free airfare, hotel and game ticket. And no 1099.

The only condition is that you have to be a young female over the age of 18 with approximate dimensions of 44-24-36 and realize that you will be sharing the room with Duckjake and his 6 male companions. :D

Hey there are only 4 of us and we don't "share a room" we sleep in the car in the stadium parking lot.

Have a couple of responses already so hopefully we'll be out in October.

Dude, I'm all OVER it, if you don't mind...oh, I guess I should warn you I'm about the crappiest golfer in the world, don't have a set of clubs I can really use, and lose many, many balls...but I (used) to have a decent pitch/short game (haven't played in a few years). I'd play, and I'd have fun, I know that.

I was tossing and turning trying to convince myself to come out, but I have no dinero (unemployed college student). Let me know. If the ticket's already gone, or if you want someone with a teensy bit more golfing experience, no biggie.

Go to the home opener. We need that place infested with crazies.

We're going to win. I don't know about the rest of the season, but we're going to win on Sept. 19th. Write it in ink. Carve it in stone. Tatoo it on your butt.

Duck had basically offered it to me if my wife allowed me to go (which she did) but if stout is an unemployed college student and skorp says he deserves it I wont mind handing it over for a fellow Pa'er who could use the cash savings! Whaddya 2 guys think of that?

Bringing 3 guys with me for the home opener. A... ahem...business trip.

Which reminds me 11 did you ever get my PM about where to watch the Pitt game on Sat the 18th?

Yeah the poor guy has to sit in the Tanning Booth with the rest of us. He'll also get to be an honorary Derminator for a day.

Just to let everyone know HookemCards took me up on the offer and, hopefully, we will be out for the Seahawks game on Oct.24th.

But since he's from right here at home his trip doesn't cost much and so we're trying to work out getting Stout and maybe a couple of others out for either the Saints(10/3) or the Giants on Nov 14th. Just a matter of coordinating schedules and flights.

I want my wife to fly out with me to the Saints game on the 3rd so she can go to the Cards football for women deal the following Monday the 4th. Otherwise I'd just try to book Stout for that one.

Less than 60 days to the home opener. :hulk:

I'm local now and a season ticket holder (thank you jeevus). Love to hook up with any Cards fans for a round of golf when they're in town. Let me know when and where and I'll be there. Better yet, if you need someone to arrange tee times let me know and I'm sure I can locate both a sweet course and a good discount as well.

Damn I'm fired up now. I'll be at the halftime meet on the 24th, and hopefully we can get some tailgating in. Now I just need to save a little money, and step up the working out/dieting so I can be down to 220 by then.

We'll take you up on that for sure. I can always use some help in trying to talk the kids who work at the golf courses into becoming Cardinal fans.

I did, but I can't think of any offhand besides Casey Jones's sports bar.
I'll look on 1060's website and see if there's anything.
Endzone might know as well.

McDuffy's is always a good place to catch a game - although the ASU-Iowa game is that day, so I don't know how packed the place will be - KO is 7PM

You know, DuckJake's generosity in this matter is inspiring. Maybe we should create a paypal account and everyone can dump a little bit of money into it and we can fly out board members from out of town who have never been to a Cardinals game before or have not been to one in a long time. This is especially true when the new stadium opens up. I think everyone on this board is in a position where they can dump 20 bucks into an account to help out fellow Cardinal Fans.

i'd consider going the "cardinals game grant" route. i think you might be asking too much of peeps with the $20 (even though i'd pay it) and we might be surprised to see some bigger donations also. maybe this would be a good place for peeps with extra miles (like duckjake) or an extra ticket, or a ride to/from airport/game or a meal, etc. to donate those goods as well. my god, we're talking about making the cardinals a charity in and of themselves...

Let's do it. Let's get somebody else out here for the home opener (which we're winning, by the way).

okay, so how do we do this?

1) we need to figure out the total expenses:

a) travel (this is variable and contingent upon where the cardinal fan hails from)
b) cards ticket (probably difficult to get one donated for first game, so this may have to be a purchase)
c) lodging (cost of local hotels - or, if cards fans don't mind bunking down w/ a fellow cards fan, maybe someone w/ a guest room would open up their hospitality. is this getting creepy now?)

2) who determines the recipient of the cardinals game grant?

a) a committee of concerned cardinals fans from the board
b) skorp
c) a committee of cardinals players (this would be the best if possible)

3) how is it determined which applicant gets the cardinals game grant?

a) lottery
b) showing of financial hardship
c) essay contest

let's tackle these issues before we move on to more logistics.
