NORTH AUGUSTA, SC (WJBF)- High school fall camps continue throughout the CSRA, with South Carolina teams putting on the pads, getting in their work in the afternoon.
Over to Aiken County, David Sammons got promoted to head coach at Fox Creek High School after being in the offensive coordinator role for the Preds last season.
The Predators are now moving to 4A, which mean’s playing schools like North Augusta, Midland Valley, Aiken and South Aiken. They finished out the season 5-6 last year. There are only four seniors on the team, but there’s new excitement, new buy in, and they’re not shying away from the challenge.
“Our biggest challenge is going to be numbers. We’re going to play a lot of teams whose rosters will be 140 kids, and we’re about to roll out there on Friday night with 40.”
“We’re about to go play, and fight, and compete and they’re working their tails off. They know, everybody’s talking about it, it’s a hot button issue here, it’s one of those things where we know the challenge, we’re not shying away from it we’re not scared of it,” Sammons said.
Fox Creek opens up the season against Orangeburg-Wilkinson.
