Four Tennessee divers qualified for the NCAA Championships on Monday, the second day of the Zone B Championships in Athens, Georgia.
Two Vols and two Lady Vols posted qualifying scores. Desharne Bent-Ashmeil and Lynae Shorter qualified in the three-meter competition after qualifying for the one-meter for the Lady Vols on Sunday.
Bennett Greene and Thomas Ciprick became the first men to qualify for the national championship, advancing in the one-meter for the Vols.
After clinching their berths in the one-meter on Sunday, Bent-Ashmeil and Shorter needed to finish in the top 12 to advance to their second event. Bent-Ashmeil finished in third place with a combined score of 736.10. Shorter recorded a fifth-place finish (664.45).
Emma Rhines also competed in the three-meter for the Lady Vols. She finished 11th. She will have an opportunity to secure a spot at the national championships with a seventh-place finish Tuesday in the platform competition.
Greene and Ciprick each qualified for the NCAA Championships after both finished in the top three in the one-meter competition on Monday.
Greene won the event with a score of 793.00, while Ciprick came in third place with a score of 768.00. Senior Nick Stone finished 15th in the one-meter, while Frazer Tavener finished 20th.
Stone and Tavener will compete in the three-meter Tuesday, along with Tennessee's Owen Redfearn.
