With a few holes still to fill in the 2027 class, Longhorns football has been busy over the last few weeks. On Saturday, they had a reason to celebrate when four-star Jasper Ngokwere set the dates for his official visit. The Longhorns target will be in Austin from June 19th to the 21st.
Currently, Ngokwere is ranked as the 25th-best offensive tackle in his class by 247Sports. They also rank Richardson High star as the 205th-best player in the nation and the 32nd-best player from Texas. While the Longhorns get a boost with the four-star recruit in the mix, they are facing competition.
During the recruiting process, Ngokwere has received offers from Texas Tech, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Duke, Florida State, and Georgia. Any of those programs would benefit from having the Texas native in the mix. He will also be taking a visit in the spring to Texas Tech a week before going to Austin.
If the talented offensive lineman were to commit to Texas, he would join a group that is held in high regard. The Longhorns' 2027 class is ranked eighth in the nation by 247Sports. It includes four-star recruits, Easton Royal and Cameron Hall. They will be joined by JT Geraci, Cade Haug, Karnell James, and Ty Knutson.
Over the next few weeks, the focus for Texas will be crafting an offer Ngokwere can't refuse. He has been a human highlight reel in high school which has drawn the attention of scouts nationwide. The hope for Texas is that his career will include a season in the Forty Acres.
