SHREVEPORT, LA (KTAL/KMSS) — After falling to Corpus Christi last night, the Mudbugs bounced back in a big way on Saturday, taking down the IceRays 4-1 at George’s Pond.
The Mudbugs led 1-0 at the end of the first period, but the IceRays wouldn’t go away. Corpus Christi equalized off the stick of Cooper Anderson, who slotted one off the post and in.
Just 30 seconds later, the Mudbugs retook the lead after Liam Wolf-Taulbee went top shelf to make it 2-1.
Shreveport would add two more goals to their lead, courtesy of Jeramiah Roberts and Remy Pusateri, to earn a 4-1 win.
With the win, the Mudbugs sit in fifth place in the North American Hockey League’s South Division standings, five points behind the IceRays.
The Mudbugs will be back in action tomorrow, Sunday, March 1, as they host the Lone Star Brahmas at 5 pm.
