Chelsea have just finished their extraordinary pre-season tour of Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Malaysia.

The Blues have played five matches under new manager Xabi Alonso, including Tottenham, Juventus and AC Milan.

While they have focused on football and implementing Alonso’s tactics, the players and coaches have had plenty of free time.

The Spaniard joined four players and two staff members for a round of golf in Hong Kong earlier this week.

Xabi Alonso played golf with four Chelsea players this week: Pedro Neto, Liam Delap, Levi Colwill and Teddy Sharman-Lowe.

They were also joined by head of recruitment Sam Jewell and head of global goalkeeping Ben Roberts at an iconic venue.

The Chelsea staff played at Hong Kong Golf Club, which has hosted many professional tournaments, including a LIV Golf event.

The golf club’s official social media channels posted pictures of the Chelsea stars enjoying their round at the famous course.

“We were delighted to host players and staff from Chelsea Football Club yesterday,” they posted on Thursday.

“Many thanks to the reigning Club World Cup champions for visiting and to Xabi, a good friend of 2001 Hong Kong Open champion Jose Maria Olazabal, for presenting our general manager Daniel O’Neill with a signed shirt.

“Best of luck for the upcoming season.”

Football players often play golf in their spare time; the only surprise was that more Chelsea stars did not participate.
