UCLA won the B1G Baseball Tournament and received the conference’s automatic berth. They will be joined by Oregon, Nebraska and USC, each receiving at-large berths into the 64-team field. UCLA, Oregon and Nebraska will each host regionals.
The Men’s College World Series takes place June 12-22 at Charles Schwab Field Omaha in Omaha, Neb. Rutgets’ last trip to the NCAA tourney was in 2007.
Overall No. 1 UCLA (51-6) will host the Los Angeles regional. They will make their 27th NCAA appearance all-time, having advanced to the Men’s College World Series last year. The Bruins won the nationalvtitle in 2013.
The Eugene Regional is hosted by Oregon (40-16), the No. 11 seed overall. The Ducks are making their sixth-straight trip to the NCAAs and 13th appearance overall.
In the Lincoln Regional, Nebraska (42-15) will host. Nebraska, hosting a regional for the first time since 2008, is making their third-straight NCAA appearance and their 20th overall. The Cornhuskers are the No. 13 seed overall.
USC (43-15) is heading to the College Station Regional. It’s their 43rd trip to the NCAA Tournament having won 12 national championships (their last in 1998). The Trojans have earned their second-straight NCAA berth.
These four B1G teams finished the regular season in the top four spots in the conference. Rutgers’ last NCAA bid came in 2007. That season Rutgers went 42-21 (20-7 BIG EAST), won the conference but went 1-2 in the Charlottesville regional of the NCAA.
