Three months after winning the Division VII girls basketball state championship, Strasburg will be back on the court.
"Anytime that you can make it to the final four, let alone win a state championship, it's a surreal feeling," Strasburg head coach Tyler Bates said. "I was just so happy for our players and their families, because they put a lot of work in to accomplish something special together."
The Tigers will be playing in the Girls Midwest Live in Sandusky, beginning Friday, June 19, through Saturday, June 20.
"We have the opportunity to go and compete on the big stage against some of not only Ohio but the region's best teams," Bates said. "This is a great opportunity to see where we're at this summer.
"We understand that we're going to have a lot of growing pains, but to share that atmosphere with some outstanding programs is a pretty cool opportunity."
109 teams will be represented from the top teams in Ohio, Michigan, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Strasburg will be joined by Tusky Valley, Hiland and New Philadelphia’s girls' basketball teams.
"We all work together and support each other as much as possible," Bates said. "So to see our area represented so well at the highest level of girls basketball in our state is exciting, and hopefully it means good things for the future."
Lydia Thomas will represent the Tigers in the All-Star game for the class of 2029.
"That game is full of players that are going to play big time college basketball someday," Bates said. "She certainly earned it coming off of the year where she earned All-State honors as a freshman and helped lead us to a state championship."
10 local athletes were named to All-State teams for their class.

Delanee Herron of Strasburg was labeled one of 11 players in the class of 2029 that are must watch during the Girl’s Midwest.
"Delaney has worked extremely hard, not just this past year, but as long as she could play basketball," Bates said. "We expect major things for her in the future. She's been one of our leaders this offseason, and to see other people take notice of her production and her work ethic is well deserved for her."
While the season for Bates and his Tigers doesn't start until November 23, the goal right now is too have fun and compete.
"The most important thing of the trip is that the girls go have some fun together at Cedar Point, team bonding is just as important as the games in the gym," he said. "We understand that our execution might not be where we needed to be, and we might not have our depth figured out right now.
"We just want to see them competing and have a good attitude, and just do the little things that make us proud to represent Strasburg."
