Fort Hill girls beat Boonsboro; Bishop Walsh, Petersburg win; Mtn. Ridge, Paw Paw lose

BOONSBORO — Four Fort Hill players scored at least nine points, and the Sentinels defeated Boonsboro, 51-36, on Friday.

The Sentinels (9-10) have won two in a row and four of their last six games.

Aubrey Fultz led the Sentinels with 14 points, Aubry Spangler tallied 10 with seven rebounds and five steals, Briley Shoemaker added 10 points, and Addison Furstenberg ended with nine points, six rebounds, four steals and three blocks.

Boonsboro's Mylee Hartman finished with a team-high 14 points.

Fort Hill led 12-5, 20-13 and 33-25 after the first three quarters.

Boonsboro won the junior varsity game 36-27. Peyton Regalia led the Warriors with 12 points. Emma McMahan scored 20 for Fort Hill.

Fort Hill hosts Bishop Walsh (17-6) on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Bishop Walsh 57, New Life 16

FREDERICK — Bishop Walsh had a 40-point offensive outburst in the first half leading to a rout of New Life on Friday for its eighth straight win.

Bishop Walsh (17-6) led 18-6 after the first quarter, 40-9 at halftime and 50-13 entering the fourth.

Lanie Odom led Bishop Walsh with 19 points and four 3-pointers with seven rebounds, Aerianna Jackson tallied 18 points, seven steals and four assists, Taylen Armentrout added 10 points, Cayenne Ostrander finished with eight rebounds, and Naiara Shaffer garnered seven steals and six assists.

New Life shot just 5 for 18 at the free-throw line. The Spartans made 9 of 19.

Bishop Walsh is at Northern (10-8) on Monday at 7 p.m.

No. 3 Petersburg 62, Spring Mills 21

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Third-ranked Petersburg held Spring Mills to single-digit points in all four quarters Saturday, rolling to a fourth straight win.

Petersburg (11-6) led 14-7, 32-14 and 53-18 at the conclusion of the first three periods.

Miley Tingler tallied a game-high 15 points for Petersburg, Shyane Tawney added 10, and Ayden Mayfield scored eight.

Spring Mills was led by Remiyah Jones with eight points.

Petersburg hosts South Harrison on Monday at 7 p.m.

South Carroll 64, Mtn. Ridge 51

SYKESVILLE — Harley McKee's 29 points powered South Carroll to a victory over Mountain Ridge on Friday.

McKee, a McDaniel College commit, made five of the Cavaliers' 10 3-pointers. South Carroll led 17-9 after the first quarter, 32-23 at the half and 45-40 after three quarters.

Carolyn Hughes topped the scoring for the Miners (8-11), who have lost four in a row, with 14 points, followed by Kylie Wiltison with nine points and Kealana Pua'auli with eight.

Pua'auli added nine rebounds and seven assists, both team-highs.

Campbell Black also scored in double figures for South Carroll with 10 points.

Mountain Ridge hosts Preston on Monday at 7 p.m.

Pendleton Co. 59, Paw Paw 14

FRANKLIN, W.Va. — Pendleton County controlled the middle quarters 29-4, including a third-period defensive shutout, in a rout of Paw Paw Friday.

The Wildcats held a 17-8 lead after a quarter, extending their advantage to 37-12 at halftime and 46-12 going into the fourth.

Jameigh Miller garnered a game-high 18 points for Pendleton, scored on six 3-pointers.

Paw Paw's Shayla Tanouye and Joselyn Smith tallied six points each.
