Former Wisconsin quarterback Scott Tolzien, who recently interviewed for the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator role, will stay with the New Orleans Saints as their quarterbacks coach for the 2026 season, according to CBS' Jonathan Jones.

Tolzien will enter his seventh year coaching at the NFL level next season. He started as a coaching assistant with the Dallas Cowboys (2020-22), then coached quarterbacks for the Cowboys from 2023-24, and most recently spent the 2025 campaign in the same position with the Saints.

The former Badger oversaw the development of rookie signal-caller Tyler Shough, who is currently a finalist for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. The former Louisville Cardinal started nine games, completing 67.6% of his passes for 2,384 yards, 10 touchdowns and six interceptions, also adding 186 yards and three scores on the ground.

The Steelers, led by recently-hired head coach Mike McCarthy, will continue their offensive coordinator search. Tolzien, meanwhile, should be a popular name during the next coordinator hiring cycle.
