Former Washington Huskies standout forward Great Osobor made his way back to Seattle after his first professional season playing in Europe.

Osobor, who was named Mountain West Conference Player of the Year at Utah State before he followed Danny Sprinkle to UW for his senior season in 2024-25, appeared in an Instagram story shared by incoming Texas Tech transfer LeJuan Watts on Friday afternoon inside the Huskies' renovated men's basketball facility.

Though the ex-Eastern Washington and Washington State turned Red Raider added "One more year" to his post that featured Osobor—who used up all four years of his college eligibility and played professionally for Science City Jena in Germany last November—it's no more than wishful thinking for the Huskies when it comes to the Spanish national's ability to suit up once again for Sprinkle in 2026-27.

Following his lone season in Seattle in 2024-25 as the Huskies' leading scorer, averaging 14.8 points and 8 rebounds over 31 starts for the Big Ten Conference program, Osobor signed with the Houston Rockets after going undrafted in the 2025 NBA draft, but didn't land a full or two-way contract with the NBA team, which resulted in the Bradford, United Kingdom native landing in Germany.

Osobor began his brief stint in the German BBL in dominant fashion, averaging 17.8 points and 4.6 rebounds for Jena, playing just over 26 minutes per game. However, the 24-year-old suffered what proved to be a season-ending knee injury following a 95-94 win on Nov. 19, 2025, which sent the team on a downward spiral that culminated in five straight losses and left it just above the relegation line with a 12-22 overall record.

Now nearly seven months out after his injury, Osobor appears closer to full strength as he stood on the court inside UW's men's basketball facilities on Friday afternoon. Despite what has continued to transpire in college athletics since Osobor played out his lone season in Seattle, which reportedly yielded a $2 million NIL deal, at the time considered groundbreaking earnings, which have since doubled for dozens of college basketball players across the country, considering former UW star Hannes Steinbach was reportedly offered $10 million by a program to return for his sophomore season.

Osobor played at least 30-plus games in each of his four seasons at the NCAA level. He started out with Sprinkle at Montana State in 2021-23 before following his head coach to Utah State in 2023-24 and then to UW in 2024-25, to all but eliminate a chance of returning to the college ranks for one final season this upcoming fall.
