Jay Dillard’s time with Clemsonbaseball has officially come to an end.

The veteran infielder announced Saturday that he will continue his college career at Austin Peay after entering the transfer portal earlier this month. Dillard became one of several Tigers seeking new opportunities when the portal opened on June 1, and he did not spend long on the market before finding his next destination.

Dillard spent four seasons in Clemson’s program, providing depth across the infield during his career. His most significant role came during the 2026 season, when he saw increased playing time while rotating between second and third base.

The right-handed hitter appeared in 33 games this spring and made 25 starts, finishing the year with a .215 batting average, one home run and five RBI. An injury to Jarren Purify helped create additional opportunities in the lineup, allowing Dillard to take on a larger role than he had in previous years.

Over the course of his Clemson career, Dillard played in 52 contests and started 30 games. He recorded five doubles, one home run and nine RBI while batting .200 across four seasons in a Tiger uniform.
