Clemson baseball’s disappointing 2026 season is officially in the rearview mirror, but the work to fix it is just beginning.
After finishing 31-26 and missing the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2022, head coach Erik Bakich and his staff now turn their attention to the transfer portal in hopes of rebuilding a roster that struggled throughout ACC play. Clemson finished 10-20 in conference games, matching the worst ACC record in program history and ending the year with an early exit from the ACC Tournament.
The Tigers were unable to build any consistent momentum during conference play, losing eight of their 10 ACC series and finishing tied with Duke at the bottom of the standings. It marked one of the most difficult seasons Clemson has experienced since Bakich arrived and left little doubt that roster changes would be needed heading into 2027.
Those changes are already underway.
With the transfer portal now open, Clemson is expected to be active on both sides of the market. Several key contributors from this year’s team have exhausted their eligibility, while others could depart through the portal or the MLB Draft. Replacing production behind the plate and on the mound will be among the biggest priorities as Bakich looks to reshape the roster.
The portal window runs through June 30, though graduate transfers and players impacted by coaching changes can enter at later dates. As movement continues throughout the summer, this tracker will be updated with every known addition and departure involving Clemson baseball.
Below is a running list of players entering and leaving the program as Clemson works to bounce back from a season that fell well short of expectations.
Clemson landed its first portal commitment of the offseason when Edwards pledged to the Tigers on June 1.
A former Georgia Southern standout, Edwards put together an impressive freshman season in 2026. The Laurens, South Carolina product finished with a .287 batting average, three home runs and nine stolen bases while earning a spot on the Sun Belt All-Freshman Team.
One of Clemson's biggest portal departures, Savoie announced his intention to transfer following a breakout 2026 campaign. The catcher/outfielder was arguably the Tigers' most productive offensive player, finishing with a team-best .329 batting average and 52 RBIs. He also ranked among Clemson's leaders in power production, recording 16 home runs and 13 doubles.
Bell has entered the transfer portal after spending two seasons in the program. The left-hander contributed both as a pitcher and position player during his Clemson career, appearing in 22 games on the mound and 19 contests at the plate. He leaves with two years of remaining eligibility.
After arriving from Georgia ahead of the 2026 season, Clavon is back in the portal after one year with the Tigers. The outfielder started 38 games and provided speed on the bases, swiping nine bags while adding five home runs. He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining at his next stop.
Fultz is seeking a new home after spending the 2026 season at Clemson. The infielder appeared in 40 games and made 34 starts, collecting one home run during the year. He enters the portal with three years of eligibility left.
Simmerson became a reliable bullpen option during his lone season with the Tigers and is now headed to the transfer portal. The right-hander posted a 3.62 ERA and recorded four saves across 19 appearances. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Priest is moving on after two seasons at Clemson. Injuries prevented him from seeing the field in 2026, but he made an impact during his first year in the program, launching 12 home runs while batting .240. He will have two years of eligibility available.
A three-year member of the Clemson roster, Dillard has entered the portal in search of a new opportunity. The 2026 season marked the most extensive playing time of his career, as he appeared in 33 games and made 25 starts. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Samol's time at Clemson appears to be over after two seasons with the Tigers. The left-handed pitcher made seven appearances in 2026 and finished with a 4.76 ERA. He transferred to Clemson from Georgia Tech before the 2025 season and has one year of eligibility left.
Miller has also entered the transfer portal after seeing limited action during the 2026 season. The right-hander appeared in six games out of the bullpen, posting a 4.15 ERA and earning one save across 4⅓ innings of work. He will have three years of eligibility remaining as he looks for his next destination.
