For the second straight year, head coach Mike White and the Texas Longhorns have landed a transfer pitcher from the Texas Tech Red Raiders with Monday’s commitment of left-handed pitcher Samantha Lincoln.
The Massachusetts product has two seasons of eligibility remaining. Lincoln announced her intentions to enter the NCAA transfer portal last Wednesday.
Ranked as the No. 17 prospect in the 2024 recruiting class by Extra Inning, Lincoln posted a 0.21 ERA as a senior and led Taunton to two state championships.
After signing with Tech, Lincoln made 27 appearances in the circle with 11 starts as a freshman, posting an 8-3 record and 3.50 ERA, striking out 56 batters and recording two saves in 72.0 innings pitched. Against UMass in mid-February, the 6’0 southpaw pitched the third perfect game in program history.
In 2026, Lincoln served as the third option in the circle behind stars NiJaree Canady and UCLA transfer Kaitlyn Terry, going 7-0 with a 3.47 ERA, recording 67 strikeouts in 74.2 innings with four complete games and two shutouts over 25 appearances with 12 starts. In the Women’s College World Series finals against the Longhorns, Lincoln pitched 3.1 innings in the first game, allowing two runs on four hits with two walks and one strikeout.
For Texas in 2027, Lincoln projects as one of the primary options behind superstar Teagan Kavan with Citlaly Gutierrez exhausting her eligibility and right-hander Cambria Salmon entering the NCAA transfer portal last week.
