In the most unsurprising move of the offseason, former five-star wide receiver Micah Hudson, who played just one season with Texas Tech before transferring to Texas A&M this offseason was back in the transfer portal less than two months after committing to the Aggies, as the talented pass catcher couldn't find his footing with either team despite having a strong connection with A&M during his recruiting process.
While Hudson looked like a must-have offseason addition for Texas A&M, coach Mike Elko and wide receiver coach Holmon Wiggins landed commitments from KC Concepcion (NC State) and Mario Craver (Mississippi State) while 2025 five-star signee Jerome Myles solidified the Aggies' receiver rotation, making Hudson's sudden departure easier to digest.
Hudson's elite traits, led by his speed and twitchiness at the top of his breaks made him a top option in the portal, garnering plenty of attention from Power 5 programs, but a return to Texas Tech was always in the cards, and became the favorite landing spot over the last two weeks.
Well, it became official after Hudson received a prediction from On3's Pete Nakos that Hudson would return to Lubbock last week, as he will transfer back to Texas Tech and likely compete for a starting spot with the Red Raiders in 2025. Again, this was always the way, as familiar territory means a seamless transition for a player that still has a high ceiling.
