The Pittsburgh Steelers' countdown to kickoff is full steam ahead for the 2026 NFL regular season, with fans needing to wait only 65 more days until the Steel City brand of football returns when the Steelers host the Atlanta Falcons on September 13.

In the spirit of the countdown, we at Steelers Wire will take a look at the history of the No. 65 jersey and analyze which player wore it best.

Steelers current No. 65: DT Kyler Baugh

Baugh, who has yet to make his NFL debut, is the current No. 65 wearer on the Steelers roster.

Steelers to wear No. 65

  • Kyler Baugh, 2025-2026
  • Dan Moore Jr., 2021-2024
  • Jerald Hawkins, 2017-2020
  • Al Woods, 2012-2013
  • Jeremy Parquet, 2008

Best No. 65 in Steelers history: OT John Jackson

The greatest No. 65 in Steelers history is offensive tackle John Jackson. Jackson played with the Steelers from 1988 to 1997. After Pittsburgh, Jackson played for the San Diego Chargers (1998-1999) and the Cincinnati Bengals (2000-2001).

During his 14 year career, Jackson appeared in 203 career games and made 166 starts.

Jackson, a multi-year starter for Pittsburgh, helped his Steelers reach Super Bowl XXX against the Dallas Cowboys. And while the team wasn't victorious, Jackson is the best No. 65 in Steelers history.
