Once a Pittsburgh Steeler, always a Pittsburgh Steeler, as a former member of the Black and Gold brand of football played a huge part in the embarrassing preseason performance by Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
During the Browns' preseason opener against the Chicago Bears, former Steelers cornerback Beanie Bishop did his best to hurt Sanders' chances in Cleveland's quarterback battle, intercepting the young quarterback following a dreadful pass attempt.
For what it's worth, Bishop also intercepted Browns QB3 Dillon Gabriel, but his play on Sanders was far more impactful, given the pressure of Deshaun Watson's push for the starting quarterback job.
Sanders completed just 6 of his 11 passes for 79 yards and zero touchdowns, finishing the contest with an abysmal passer rating of 39.6.
Bishop, who's currently making the most of this new opportunity with his third NFL team, made waves with the Steelers during his rookie season, recording four interceptions, seven passes defended and 45 combined tackles. He was released by Pittsburgh in August as part of final roster cuts and subsequently signed with the team's practice squad.
After being cut from the Steelers' practice squad, Bishop joined the New Orleans Saints' practice squad but didn't appear in any regular-season action. Bishop joined the Bears on August 9 and could even earn himself a 53-man roster spot if these strong preseason performances continue.
