Is there potential for a reunion between the Los Angeles Rams and safety Taylor Rapp? The Buffalo Bills released Rapp on Friday, a move that will save $3 million in cap space. The Rams don’t have a need at safety with Kam Curl being re-signed for three more years, and potentially Quentin Lake moving back to safety after the team acquired Trent McDuffie as an option in the slot, but perhaps Rapp would make sense as a depth piece, if not a linebacker.
A second round pick by Los Angeles in 2019, Rapp averaged 82 tackles and 2 interceptions over four seasons with the Rams.
L.A. let him leave in free agency — with little pushback from fans because Rapp has always had his inconsistencies and struggles in coverage and tackling — and he signed with the Bills in 2023.
But now a free agent again, Rapp’s best bet might be somewhere he has familiarity and where he won a Super Bowl: Los Angeles.
As a backup, not a starter, Taylor Rapp could be a good fit for the Rams again. He only played in six games last season but is barely 28, so Taylor’s career could be far from being a wrap.
