After a promising true freshman season in which Oregon Ducks EDGE Tobi Haastrup impressed in practice, the London, England, native is headed to West Virginia, as he committed to the Mountaineers on Friday. On3's Hayes Fawcett was the first to report the news.
Haastrup arrived to Eugene as a four-star and the No. 24 edge and No. 223 player overall in the 2025 class out of Mayde Creek High School in Houston, TX.
The 6-foot-4, 241-pounder totaled just one tackle during his lone season with the Ducks, as it came in Oregon's 69-3 blowout win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys. He utilized a redshirt, preserving his four seasons of eligibility.
Haastrup entered the portal on the same day that fellow defensive lineman Jericho Johnson, Ashton Porter, Blake Purchase and Xadavien Sims entered the portal, largely in part due to the entire Oregon defensive line returning for next season.
Now, the Ducks' former promising pass rusher with join a Mountaineers defense that tied for 54th in the country in sacks, as they totaled 28 total sacks during the 2025 season. West Virginia finished with a 4-8 overall record and went 2-7 in the Big 12.
Hopeful of a rebound on the horizon, Haastrup will have a chance to be apart of that as he'll likely compete for a starting job. He will have four seasons of eligibility remaining.
