Five-star edge rusher KJ Green has circled August 8 as his decision day, but we now know which hats will be on the table when he commits.
The Oregon Ducks will be one of them.
Green finalized his official visit schedule, which includes a tour through SEC country and a lone trip out west to Eugene. The final five programs in the running for the five-star edge rusher include Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Alabama, and his home state school, Georgia.
A star at Stephenson High School in the Peach State, Green exploded in his junior season. He racked up 129 tackles, 40 for a loss, 18 sacks and four forced fumbles. He was named a MaxPreps Junior All-American and was the Region 5-AAA Defensive Player of the Year.
Green will take his first official visit to Georgia on Friday before making the trip up to Oregon at the end of the month on May 29. He'll spend the weekend in Eugene as the Ducks look to strengthen the bond that they have formed with him recently.
The following weeks will include visits to Texas and South Carolina before finishing up at Alabama in late June. After that, Green will get a month to chew on his decision, unless he decides to move it up if one visit impressed him enough.
Despite being the lone West Coast contender against a group of SEC power programs, Oregon has a real shot to land the five-star. He recently took a visit to Eugene and left impressed.
Green is the No. 8 player in the 2027 recruiting class and the No. 2 edge rusher, per 247 Sports. Standing at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, he could stand to add some weight with the Ducks, but his ability to rush with speed and a quick jump is very similar to what Oregon has now with Nasir Wyatt.
