Former Notre Dame Fighting Irish quarterback Kenny Minchey has settled on Nebraska.

Minchey entered the transfer portal this offseason after losing out on the starting job to CJ Carr. Preseason reports indicated that the quarterback competition was close, with Minchey's running ability being one of his strengths.

But Carr won out -- and he played well all season, showing the coaches that they made the right choice. Given that Carr is only a freshman and, barring injury, is likely to hold the starting job for the next two or three seasons, it makes sense that Minchey will try to start elsewhere.

Perhaps he'll kick-start a moribund Nebraska program.
