Haiti announced its World Cup roster and one former Melrose High School soccer player made the cut.

Forward Frantzdy Pierrot was named as one of the nine attackers.

Pierrot played two seasons at Melrose High School. He also played at Northeastern (2014, 2015), and currently plays for Çaykur Rizespor, a Turkish club.

The 31-year-old led Haiti in scoring last fall during the Gold Cup.

Pierrot will return to Massachusetts in Haiti’s first game of World Cup action on June 9 when his club takes on Scotland in a Group C match at 9 p.m. at Gillette Stadium.

This marks the second time Haiti has qualified for the World Cup and their first appearance since 1974.
