Former LSU baseball star Dylan Crews made his return to the MLB last week. He received a call-up from Triple-A to the Washington Nationals and has played well in two National League East series.

The Nationals played three games apiece against the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves last week. They began a set against the Cleveland Guardians on Monday and Crews started in every game.

The center fielder batted .233 with seven hits in his first week back at the highest level. Crews hit his first home run of the year against the Braves on May 23, which opened the scoring in a 2-0 victory for the Nationals.

Crews started the year in Triple A with the Rochester Red Wings. He played in 41 games and batted .258 with 40 hits, including five homers, and 20 RBI.

Crews hopes to finally carve out an everyday role at the big league level. He was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft, but struggled last year. Despite the struggles, it was still a surprise to see a prospect of his caliber optioned back to AAA ahead of the 2026 season. The Nats remain optimistic about Crews's future.
