Mark Pope's first season with the Kentucky Wildcats was largely successful, with an unexpected run to the Sweet 16. One of the stars of that team was Koby Brea, a sharpshooting wing who had a knack for making big shots in big moments.
Brea was selected with the 41st overall pick of the 2025 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors, and then traded to the Phoenix Suns. He played in 12 games as a rookie, averaging 3.8 points per game and shooting 43% from three-point range. In 25 games with their G League affiliate, he averaged 15 points per contest.4
A restricted free agent entering the offseason, Brea has now agreed to return to the Suns on a two-way contract per Shams Charania of ESPN. It was an expected move, and he had previously been announced as a part of their Summer League team.
A two-way contract is a deal that enables a player, Brea in this case, to play in both the NBA and the G League for the organization. Brea is certain to see time in both locations as needed. He's a talented shooter, and if he develops the other parts of his game, he'll be a valuable member of the team. We congratulate him on the contact.
