Former Duke tennis player Theo Winegar competed at Wimbledon this week in a doubles tournament but unfortunately was eliminated Monday in a quest to reach the quarterfinals.
Winegar was teamed up with Jean-Julien Rojer, and the duo won their first two matches before Monday's loss. After winning the first set, Winegar and Rojer dropped back-to-back sets to Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic to end their tournament prematurely.
However, prior to Wimbledon, Winegar had entered the tournament in good form, having won a grass doubles tournament in Nottingham Forrest with his partner Fernando Romboli in late June. Winegar has won four titles in 2026 and is now ranked among the top-80 doubles players in the world.
