Former Chargers running back Hassan Haskins has signed a deal with the Patriots.
In the process, the Patriots waived running back Myles Montgomery.
Haskins joins the Patriots' running back room, which includes TreVeyon Henderson, Rhamondre Stevenson and Lan Larison.
The Chargers claimed Haskins off waivers in late August 2024.
Haskins joins the Patriots after spending the last two seasons in Los Angeles. The 26-year-old tallied 51 rushing attempts for 136 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 2.7 yards per carry in 29 games.
Haskins' last game with the Chargers came in the AFC Wild Card round against the Patriots in January.
Prior to his time with the Chargers, he was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Titans drafted Haskins with the 131st overall pick in the fourth round.
Haskins attended the University of Michigan from 2018-21. He was named second-team All-American and first-team All-Big Ten in his senior season in 2021. In 32 collegiate games, he rushed 452 times for 2,324 yards and 30 touchdowns, averaging 5.1 yards per carry.
The Chargers let Haskins walk this offseason and replaced him with Keaton Mitchell and Kimani Vidal. Los Angeles' backfield has all the potential in the world, led by second-year back Omarion Hampton.
