Former Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pace is making a return to the NFC North. According to ESPN's Kevin Seifert, Pace is joining the Minnesota Vikings' front office as a football advisor as part of new Vikings GM Nolan Teasley's staff.
During Pace's seven-year tenure as Bears general manager, the team went 48-67 and failed to win a playoff game in two appearances. Following Pace's firing, Chicago hired Ryan Poles as GM, and he went on to make one of the best trades in NFL history, subsequently landing quarterback Caleb Williams and eventually head coach Ben Johnson.
After his firing, Pace joined the Atlanta Falcons front office, where he served as a senior personnel executive (2022), director of player personnel (2023) and vice president of football operations and player personnel (2024-25). The Falcons and Pace parted ways in February 2026.
Interestingly enough, Atlanta went on to hire former Bears assistant GM Ian Cunningham as their new general manager.
Pace now joins the Vikings front office under first-time GM Nolan Teasley, who was hired back on May 30. Teasley replaces Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, who was fired on Jan. 30 just one year after signing a contract extension with Minnesota.
