Former Colorado Avalanche forward Andrew Agozzino announced his retirement from professional hockey on Tuesday after 14 years.
Agozzino, 35, turned pro in 2013 with the Avalanche’s AHL affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters. He finishes his career with 53 NHL games and 847 AHL games.
Colorado signed Agozzino as an undrafted free agent in March 2013 after a successful season with the Monsters on an AHL contract. He made his NHL debut in November 2014 and appeared in 10 games over the next two seasons under then-head coach Patrick Roy.
After a one-year stint with the AHL’s Chicago Wolves, Agozzino returned to the Avalanche organization and spent the 2017-18 season with the San Antonio Rampage, who were their minor league affiliate that season. The following year, under head coach Jared Bednar, he appeared in 11 games for the Avalanche and scored the first goal of his NHL career. He also recorded 60 points in 54 games with the Eagles, ranking among the AHL club’s leading scorers.
Agozzino later had stints with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks, Ottawa Senators, and most recently, the Utah Mammoth. He appeared in two games in 2025-26.
He retires with 12 points (three goals, nine assists) in 53 NHL games and an impressive 662 points in 847 AHL contests.
