University of Alabama at Birmingham basketball guard and former Auburn Tiger Chance Westry announces his plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, via Jonathan Givony of Draft Express.
The Second-Team All-AAC guard enters the transfer portal after one season with the UAB Blazers. He averaged 15.7 points and 5.3 assists, which led the AAC conference in assists.
Westry began his collegiate career at Auburn in 2022 after being recruited as a four-star prospect and the No. 26 overall player by Rivals. He only saw action in 11 games for the Tigers that season and only averaged 2.5 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists.
After his freshman season, Westry transferred to Syracuse, where he redshirted in his first year and only played in three games his second year. In 2025, Westry transferred to UAB. He will have two years of eligibility left in his NCAA basketball career.
