The Minnesota Twins have officially promoted former Alabama Crimson Tide ace Connor Prielipp for his MLB debut, the organization announced Wednesday.
Prielipp was at Alabama for three seasons from 2020-22, serving as the Crimson Tide's top starter during the 2020 shortened season. The left-hander also missed a majority of the 2021 season due to an injury, as well as all of 2022.
During the 2020-21 seasons, Prielipp made seven starts for the Crimson Tide, an impressive sample size where the left-hander owned a combined 4-1 record with a 0.96 ERA across 28 innings. Prielipp also posted a 47:7 K:BB ratio, and went on to be selected in the second round of the 2022 MLB Draft by Minnesota.
Since joining the Twins organization, Prielipp has posted a combined 3.72 ERA across the last four seasons, and has spent the entirety of the 2026 campaign so far with Triple-A St. Paul's. Across his 15.2 innings pitched, Prielipp has posted a 2.30 ERA, and is currently ranked as Minnesota's No. 5 overall prospect, per MLB Pipeline.
With this MLB promotion, Prielipp becomes the lone former Alabama player currently on a MLB roster.
