The Flyers have signed another exciting prospect to an entry-level contract.

On Thursday morning, the team officially announced the signing of center Jack Berglund to an entry-level contract that will begin in 2026-27. Breglund will join the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the AHL for the remainder of the year.

The 2024 51st overall pick by the Flyers has been a dominant player in the U20 Nationell, posting over a point-per-game in the league since being drafted. Most of Berglund’s time has been spent in the SHL with Farjestad BK. In 57 total games over two seasons in the SHL, the 19-year-old has 15 points with 8 goals and 7 assists.

This past season, Berglund played in his second World Juniors. He represented Sweden as the Captain of the team and helped lead them to a championship. Berglund scored 3 goals and 10 total points during the tournament.

That was really the prospect’s breakout. The Flyers have always liked him, but now he has put himself on notice for the rest of the league.

Breglund is a two-way center who can produce offense but is really an all-situations type player. At 6’4″, he brings a size and physicality that the Flyers don’t really have in their top-nine down the middle. He has also shown great leadership traits throughout his career.

Berglund’s deal with Farjestad BK goes for one more season. With his ELC starting next season, by best guess, he’ll be given a chance to make the Flyers roster in training camp. However, if he does not, a return to Sweden seems like the most likely scenario.

Again, Berglund will report to the Phantoms (AHL) for the rest of the season. He turns 20 on Friday.
