The Florida Gators capped the 2025-26 academic year with another top 10 finish in the Learfield Director's Cup standings.
Florida wound up sixth in the Learfield Director's Cup standings, which takes into account how a school performs based on the regular and postseason finishes of all of its athletic programs.
Texas won the Director's Cup with a total of 1,322 points, followed by Stanford (1,263.5 points), UCLA (1199.25 points), North Carolina (1166.75 points), Virginia (1148.75 points) and UF (1,104.50).
With the No. 6 finish, Florida extended its streak of top-10 national all-sports finishes to 42 consecutive years, remaining the only program in the country to achieve that feat.
Florida failed to win a national championship in a full calendar season for the first time since 2004-05 but finished national runner up this year in men's swimming and women's track. Overall, UF had nine programs finish among the nation's final top 10 − men's swimming and diving (2), women's outdoor track and field (2), women's gymnastics (3), men's indoor track and field (3), women's cross country (5), men's golf (tied 5), women's indoor track and field (tied 5), softball (tied 9) and women's swimming and diving (10).
“It was another impressive year for the Gators," Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin said. "With nine top 10 team finishes, including seven among the nation’s top five, our student-athletes, coaches and staff demonstrated the commitment, resilience and pursuit of excellence that define Florida Athletics. We’re grateful for their dedication and proud of the way they represented the Gator standard on the national stage throughout the year.”
In addition, Florida extended its streak of winning at least one SEC championship to 48 consecutive seasons, winning conference titles in men's basketball, women's indoor track, women's outdoor track and women's cross country. That helped propel the Gators to the 2025-26 USA Today Network SEC All-Sports Trophy as UF won the award for the first time since 2017-18.
Five UF athletes won individual national championships in 2025-26 including Riley McCusker (women's gymnastics, uneven bars), Josh Leindo (50 & 100 freestyle 100 butterfly, men's swimming), Ahmed Hafnaoui (500 freestyle, men's swimming), Ahmed Jaouadi (1,650 freestyle, men's swimming) and Alida van Daalen (discus, women's track and field).
