Former Florida football coach Urban Meyer, who guided the Florida Gators to two national titles in 2006 and 2008, will be inducted to UF's Ring of Honor during its game against Oklahoma on Nov. 7.
Meyer will join Wilber Marshall, Emmitt Smith, Steve Spurrier, Tim Tebow, Danny Wuerffel and Jack Youngblood in the team’s Ring of Honor in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
“The championships were certainly special, but the bonds forged with our players, staff, and countless members of Gator Nation will last a lifetime," Meyer said. "I am grateful to have been part of Florida’s storied football tradition, and I want to thank Gator Nation for the passion and pride you continue to bring to this program. This recognition means more to me and my family than words can express."
Meyer recruited and developed some of the greatest players in Gator history, including Heisman-winning quarterback Tim Tebow, all-purpose offensive star Percy Harvin, cornerback Joe Haden and center Maurkice Pouncey. He posted an overall record of 65-15 and a SEC mark of 36-12 in guiding UF to two SEC titles (2006, 2008) before the national titles.
Against top-10 ranked teams, Meyer was 11-4 (.733) during his UF tenure. Florida also won at a high clip at The Swamp during Meyer's six seasons, going 36-5 (.878), and was its best against its rivals, going a combined 19-5 against Georgia, LSU, Tennessee and Florida State.
Meyer’s induction into the Ring of Honor was announced last season during his on-campus salute on Nov. 22, 2025, for being named a member of the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame.
