Florida baseball has flipped one of the country’s top high school outfielders.
The Gators earned a commitment from Braylen Montgomery, who initially signed with Oklahoma in the fall but is in the process of being released from his agreement with the Sooners.
The 6-foot-3, 217-pounder follows newly hired Florida assistant coach Todd Butler, who was OU’s recruiting coordinator and is also a Louisiana native.
The Class of 2026 outfielder is listed as the No. 231 overall draft prospect by Perfect Game, while Prep Baseball lists him as the No. 4 overall player in Louisiana.
Montgomery, who played at Walker High School, earned First Team All-State honors this past year. Montgomery's addition gives Florida incoming 10 high school players along with currently nine players from the transfer portal.
