The UConn Huskies have been sitting atop the college basketball standings for much of the past few years, under the leadership of head coach Dan Hurley.
Hurley and the Huskies entered the NCAA Tournament in 2025 looking to win their third straight national title.
UConn had previously won back-to-back national championships, placing them back atop the blue blood line, with programs like Kansas, Duke, Kentucky and more.
While it's been mainly a successful time for Hurley and the Huskies, they recently suffered a major loss to the future of the program.
After the season, five-star recruit Darius Adams decommitted from the Big East team.
According to Adam Zagoria, Adams visited Georgetown after his decommitment and it apparently "went well" for the blue-chip recruit.
Adams originally committed to UConn on Sept. 30 after taking his official visit to the Big East program on Sept. 17. He signed with the Huskies on Nov. 13 and wound up decommitting from the program, leaving Dan Hurley and his staff on April 19.
Before committing to UConn, Adams also took official visits to Michigan State, Tennessee and NC State.

While Adams' visit with the Georgetown Hoyas "went well," he will also visit the Maryland Terrapins. Maryland had a successful season but lost head coach Kevin Willard after he took the head coaching position at Villanova.
Adams will now work through the recruiting process for the second time, looking for a new home in college basketball before the 2025-26 season.
While it's a loss for Hurley, the Huskies have found success in the transfer portal and high school recruiting, so much so that they can put a band-aid on Adams blow.
